Meet our Partner: Mylocker

Ambitlocker wouldn't have been possible without our partner Mylocker. In this post, you can learn more about the company, how we became partners and why.

We rarely speak about a new product or project without mentioning some amazing partner we’re working with. And for a good reason: Partnerships are a central part of getting our solutions to market and a central part of our business model.

In every good partnership, we need to complement each other in what we do – cover each other’s strengths and weaknesses. And over the years we’ve learned, that the right partner can make or break a project.

For that reason, we have decided to dedicate this new series to our partners, so you have a chance to get to know them a little bit better: Who they are, how we started working with them, what we’re doing together and why.

The first one in the series: Mylocker.

Who is Mylocker?

Mylocker delivers locker-solutions to schools and companies – and have done it for years. They are a company based out of Copenhagen, and today they are the largest player on the Danish market in their field.

What do you do together?

We’re working with Mylocker on our newest product: The internet-connected padlock ‘Ambitlocker’.

And actually, this isn’t just a traditional partnership. We’ve isolated the invention in its own startup which we own in a joint venture with Mylocker.

How was the partnership initiated?

Partnerships are created in all sort of ways, but this one is really unusual: I met Peter – the owner of Mylocker – on a private occasion. We realized we had some professional overlaps that could be interesting to discuss further, which ended up in the co-development of Ambitlocker.

Usually, the first step in a partnership is building trust. But by engaging privately first, this step was quickly established, which allowed us to start developing relatively fast.

Why they are a strong partner:

As a well-established player in their field, Mylocker has a great connection with the customers in the space. They have deep knowledge and understanding of the industry and already have established sales- and marketing channels.

Besides their prominent position in the market, they have another crucial thing going for them: They want to innovate and dare to invest in new fields to grow. Which isn’t always the case with companies who already have a well-established position in the market.

Last but not least, there is chemistry. Like any good relationship, we need to be on the same page and understand each other. And for two years they’ve shown their commitment and loyalty to us and the project as a whole.

Like all partnership we do, our main role is to develop the product and make it ready for the market. And the last step for this partnership to become successful is, that we need to deliver that on our end.
